What is involved with dental implants?

Implant placement and restoration involves several appointments.

In the first appointment,  the dentist will examine your teeth, gums and bone tissue to determine if you are a candidate for implants.   Dental x-rays and impressions (molds) are taken to replicate your mouth when you are not in the office.

At the next dental appointment, the dentist will surgically place the implant.  The surgical area will be allowed to heal.

The third appointment, the crown will be delivered and placed on the dental implant(s).  This new crown or series of crowns will last as long as you are diligent in caring for your teeth, gums and crowns at home and you come to the office for regular check-ups and dental cleanings.
